About Carsten

Please allow me to give you a more detailed description about who I am. I made it as concise as possible and I am sure you will find some interesting information. So keep reading.

My name is Carsten Cziborr. I was born and raised in Germany (for the most part) in a small village near the former capital Bonn. I am a professional NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) trainer & coach and speaker. For over 14 years I have been designing and conducting corporate trainings as well as public programs. I had the honor to be personally trained by several luminaries in the field like Dr. Richard Bandler, co-creator of NLP, Robert Dilts and Judith Delozier to name just a few. Most of my time as a trainer and coach I have spent in Asia.

I believe in peoples ability to change. I guide and support them to achieve personal growth and success, to overcome obstacles in their business or personal life so they can be happier tomorrow.

My own life changed drastically when I decided back in 1996 to quit my job and go to China to experience something new. I needed to get out of my comfort zone if I wanted to grow. I applied for a scholarship from the Siemens Nixdorf Foundation. I was determined to get it even though it had never been given before to someone with no university degree. But this didn’t hold me back. Quite the opposite. I had made a promise to myself long time ago, that I would move forward no matter what people believe to be possible or can not be done. I embrace every challenge and 3 month later, in December 2006 I proved that it was possible.

So, there I was one day standing at the airport just a few months after I got my scholarship with my ticket to China, not knowing what to expect. Boy, I had no idea how my life would change from that moment onwards. It was a big step from a small village of roughly 2000 inhabitants to a multi-million mega city like Beijing.

A few months after my arrival I started working with Siemens. First as an intern and later was offered a full employment contract. I was given a great opportunity to be a member of the team that was developing an in-house Management Learning Program and took also part in the foundation of the Siemens Management Institute Beijing. This was also the starting point of my interest in training and education. Daily I gained new knowledge from the world of management, leadership and psychology.

Outside Siemens it was also a big challenge for me. Living in a culture that was so different to my own was another change I had to get used to. The two years I spent in China influenced and changed me more than my previous 26 years in Germany.

In 1999 I decided to go back to Germany and continued my work for Siemens in Munich. During my job interview I was told that I most like won’t make it very far up the career ladder in Siemens since I had no university degree. There it was again this little voice in my head telling me to ignore those words because I didn’t want to buy into other peoples’ limiting beliefs.

So I started working for Siemens Qualification and Training, the devision of Siemens responsible for all training related matters in Germany. I was made responsible for coaching and facilitating teams for the so called “Action Learning Projects“. I worked there for the following 4 years until I got a call one day where I was offered to become the Regional Director for Asia Pacific for the Management Learning Program. Again, believing in myself had proven right and a few months later I was on a plane to Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia which I should call home for the next 5 years at least.

The initial 5 years have now already became 8 years. I left Siemens in 2005 to start my own company Navigo NLP Center Sdn. Bhd.. I found my calling in what I am doing now and am proud that with my work I can positively impact the people in this and the surrounding countries. There have been and still will be big challenges ahead of me. However, I am certain that whatever challenge life presents to me I will overcome.

Ok, long story short. Yes, I could have told you earlier that there is a shorter version but where is the fun in that. Here are three things I’d like to share with you that guided me over the years:

    1. Whenever someone tells you you can’t do this or that. Stop listening! Everything is possible if you wholeheartedly believe in your goal and yourself. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and let the others live their own lives.
    2. Everyone including yourself has the ability to change. Regardless of age, social background  or education you were given. Change is never comfortable, sure. It pushes you out of your comfort zone into the unknown. To a place you have been before. However, better you decide to change yourself before the circumstance make the decision for you.
    3. The question is not IF you will face a serious challenge in your life but rather WHEN and how well prepared you will be when it hits you. Open yourself up to learn something new everyday. Take every opportunity to grow and become more than you were yesterday.

I have setup this blog to share with you my knowledge, experience, ideas and insight from the things I discover and learn myself daily. I am hoping it will provide you with new ideas on how to deal with your own challenges a bit better. Or maybe it will simply challenge your own current thinking, inviting you to go beyond the boundaries of your own reality. Whatever you will find here by reading my posts I hope it will lead you to something that you will benefit from tomorrow. Feel free to drop by as often as you want and hope to have some nice discussions with you in the future.

Have a wonderful day,
